Marta Armada

Marta Armada (Vigo, Galicia, 1967) es una artista de joyería contemporánea y escultora conocida por sus obras en pequeño formato. Su trabajo se inspira en la idea del viaje, sus vivencias y las relaciones establecidas con diferentes culturas. Armada utiliza principalmente la porcelana y ocasionalmente otros materiales, como el oro. Su técnica se basa en el uso del torno alfarero y el molde, lo que le permite crear formas precisas y detalladas en cada una de sus obras.

Armada inició su carrera como ceramista en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Vigo y completó su formación en la Escuela de Cerámica de la Moncloa de Madrid. Ha sido seleccionada para residencias artísticas en China, Portugal, Taiwán, Australia, Tasmania y Finlandia, y ha participado en exposiciones tanto nacionales como internacionales. Su obra ha sido reconocida con varios premios, incluido el Premio Recomendación en la Taiwan Ceramics Biennale (2020) y el Premio Artesanía de Galicia (2014). Sus piezas forman parte de colecciones en museos de todo el mundo.

Marta Armada (Vigo, Galicia, 1967) is a contemporary jewellery artist and sculptor known for her small scale works. Her work is inspired by the idea of travel, her experiences and the relationships established with different cultures. Armada uses mainly porcelain and occasionally other materials, such as gold. Her technique is based on the use of the potter’s wheel and mould, which allows her to create precise and detailed forms in each of her works.

Armada began her career as a ceramist at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios in Vigo and completed her training at the Escuela de Cerámica de la Moncloa in Madrid. She has been selected for artistic residencies in China, Portugal, Taiwan, Australia, Tasmania and Finland, and has participated in both national and international exhibitions. Her work has been recognised with several awards, including the Recommendation Award at the Taiwan Ceramics Biennale (2020) and the Premio Artesanía de Galicia (2014). Her pieces can be found in museum collections around the world.
